Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)
The Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) has a basic knowledge of quality tools and their uses and is involved in quality improvement projects, but doesn't necessarily come from a traditional quality area. Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CQIA Body of Knowledge.
The CQIA examination is a one-part, 110-question, three-hour exam delivered by ASQ's testing partner, Pyrometric, during the February, April, June, August, October and December "testing windows". 100 questions are scored and 10 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).
All examinations are open-book. Each participant must bring his or her own reference materials. Use of reference materials and calculators is explained in the seating letter provided to applicants.
